Head Coach- Griff Reynaud  A Second Degree Black Belt in Walt Bayless Combat Jiu- Jitsu. Griffen started training in 1993 and received his Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu in 1995. While running the Walt Bayless Combat Jiu Jitsu Gym in Salt Lake City from 97- 07, Griffen started to compete in Mixed Martial Arts events and training in Boxing and Muay Thai, beginning in 1997. Starting in the Bas Rutten Invitational, and later in Monte Cox’s Extreme Challenge, and Rings, he compiled a 9-3 record before a career ending injury in February of 03’. Griffen developed a close working relationship with Monte Cox and his Team Extreme, training with Team Miletich on occasion in Iowa, and in turn bringing Team Miletich members to Salt Lake to train. Since 2001 Griffen has trained exclusively or trained with UFC and Pride FC fighters that include: Alex Steibling, Jeremy Horn, Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, Matt Hughes, Robby Lawler, Joe Riggs, Joe Doerkson, Minowa Ikuska, Hirotaka Yokoi, and Josh Burkman. In 2008. Griffen became the GM and Head Trainer at Throwdown Elite Training Center. At Throwdown, Griffen put together one of the best fight teams in the nation, with fighters that included Court Mcgee, Steven Siler, Ramsey Nijem, amd Rad Martinez. The Throwdown fight team produced 3 Ultimate Fighter Tv show contestants, 1 TUF champion, 2 TUF finalist, and over 13 Title holders in various organizations across the country. Through out the years Griffen has become well respected in the national and international MMA community, by continuing to evolve and develop his training style to keep up with the explosive sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Griffen is also invovled in the local wrestling community, serving as Head Coach for the Brighton High Bengal Club wrestling K-3rd grade team. Go BENGALS!!!
